Executive Session was called to discuss the “Purchase of Property 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(6)–The setting of a price for the sale or lease of property owned by the public body.  On Tuesday, July 14, Mayor Pannier stated, after “looking [at the issue] a long time,” the Council resolved to authorize the sale of surplus real property, near the future Waste Water Treatment Plant.  The log cabin and a two-acre lot extending to Co-Z Corner are in the Sunrise Addition.  Both lots are zoned Commercial, but the house may be reclassified as a residential zone.  He added, publicity will begin Monday, July 20, or Tuesday, July 21, to begin the bid process; there is no minimum bid in place.  Interested persons may pick up a bid package at City Hall.  there will be an Open House in a few weeks.  He noted “the City can refuse any bids not in the best interests of the City.  Bids are due Monday, August 17, 2015.”
