Joyce I. Cooper, 90, of Fenton, IL, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL.
Joyce Ilene Cooper was born April 15, 1927, in Prophetstown, IL, the daughter of John and VeNeita (Mickle) Dennis. She married Kenneth Cooper on August 3, 1945, in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2012. Joyce was a homemaker, raising four children and being a farm wife. She loved the outdoors, camping with family, gardening, and just sitting on her deck. She also loved to go out to eat with her family and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Andrea) Cooper, Morrison, IL, David (Georgia) Cooper, Prophetstown, and Jon (Linda) Cooper, Erie, IL; daughter, Lynn (Rick) Shaffer, Erie; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five grandchildren and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, 616 Main Street, Erie, IL.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL.
Burial will be in the Fenton Cemetery, Fenton, IL.
