Joyce Pauline Ernst, age 82 of Morrison, IL, formerly of Sterling, IL, died Friday, August 23, 2019, at Pleasant View Nursing & Rehabilitation in Morrison.
Joyce was born on May 10, 1937, in Sterling, the daughter of Dean and Mildred (Wagenknecht) Pyse. She married Alan E. Ernst on July 3, 1954. Joyce worked as an Licensed Practical Nurse for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Alan; son, Lee (Lauren) Ernst of Davenport, IA; sisters, Joan (Janna) Pyse, Jeanie (Carl Dean) Mattingly, Debbie (Randy) Aronson, and Wendy (Craig) Stralow; brothers, Ted (Dot) Pyse and David (Michelle) Pyse; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Ernst; daughter, Pamela Schroeder; two babies in infancy; five siblings, Judith Estes, Charlotte Doan, Peggy Karash, Cheryl “Sue” Chapell, and Dennis Pyse.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
