The Kindness Rocks project began in 2015 in Cape Cod, MA, when Megan Murphy developed a hobby. As her “grass roots kindness project,” she started dropping painted rocks, with inspirational messages, along the beach she walked. Her goal was to leave hopeful and encouraging thoughts for others, who need a kind word to brighten their day.
People who found her rock messages meaningful took them home. Murphy’s simple gesture has spread to seven countries and across the United States.
We want to bring the National Kindness Rocks project to Morrison, IL. Everyone is invited to paint at Kindness Rocks, Saturday, September 9, 2017, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Morrison Sports Complex, 15201 Bishop Road, Morrison, IL.
Use your words to
- spread joy
- inspire
- brighten someone’s day
- beautify Morrison.
Rocks will be available, but you may bring your own. Paint will be provided.
Please bring brushes and oil-based paint pens.
When you are done, take your rock with you. Leave it in a public place for others to find and share.
Bring your entire family and join in the fun as Kindness Rocks Morrison.
