John Henry Johnson, 86, of Toulon Health Care Center in Toulon, IL, died Wednesday August 14, 2013, at the Health Care Center.
John was born July 3, 1927, in Geneseo, IL. His parents were Henry John and Rosalie Wilhelmina (Larson) Johnson. He was educated in the Prophetstown grade schools and graduated from Prophetstown High School. John was employed as a meat cutter, farmer, and carpenter. He enjoyed his dogs and horses, hunting, and playing cards.
Survivors include one daughter, Lavona (Mick) Julio of Davenport, IA; three sons, John S. (Julie K.) Johnson of Morrison, IL, Van (Charlene) Johnson of Prophetstown, IL, and Tony Johnson of El Cajon, CA; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry, in infancy.
There willl be no visitation or funeral service.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, 320 Lafayette Street, Prophetstown, is in charge of arrangements.
