Joan Olson, 90, of Resthave Retirement Home, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL.
Joan was born May 3, 1923, in Lyndon, IL, to Arthur G. and Alice (Hook) Bierman. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County Grade Schools and was a graduate of Lyndon High School. Prior to marriage, she was employed as a secretary for various companies. She married Loren W. “Ole” Olson on January 17, 1947, in Morrison. He died May 14, 2008. Joan was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, the church’s Ladies Aid, Lydian, and Philathea Societies and was a choir member. She served as a member of the Resthave Nursing Home Auxiliary and the Morrison Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Jo Garesche of Peoria, IL; Barb (Steve) Moran of Davenport, IA; Betty Jane Ford of Chuluota, FL; one son, Jim (Sue) Olson of Sterling; four grandchildren, Amber Ford, Buck Ford, Jennifer (D.J.) Wildes, and Andrew (Maggie) Olson; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Cal Wildes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son-in-law, Garrett Ford, and one brother, James Arthur Bierman.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL
