Joan M. Heusinkveld, 87, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison, IL.
Joan was born May 4, 1933, in Fulton, IL, to Donald and Nellie (Buikema) DeWeerdt. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison. Joan married Robert “Heusie” W. Heusinkveld on March 11, 1954, in Fulton. He died on December 24, 2017. Joan worked as a Cold Control Operator at General Electric in Morrison. She also worked at Kem Apparel, a women’s dress shop, in Morrison. Most recently, she was employed at Fitzgerald Pharmacy, Morrison, as a clerk. Joan was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She enjoyed bird watching and was an avid bargain shopper. Joan’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Survivors include daughter, Cindy (Richard) Wolf of Erie, IL; sons, Gary (Deb) Heusinkveld and Jon (Linda Brandon) Heusinkveld both of Morrison; six grandchildren, Michael (Carolyne) Wolf, Matthew (Samantha) Wolf, Amanda (Michael) Tummillo, Adam Heusinkveld, Cassandra (Dustin Belt) Heusinkveld, and Megan (Tom) Burns; five great- grandchildren, Lillian, Olivia, and Lucas Wolf, Nick and Alex Tummillo; sister, Donna Mae Dykstra of Clinton, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; grandson, Aaron Wolf; great-grandson, Ethan Wolf; sister, Gloria Biermann.
There will be a private family visitation and funeral service, with Rev. Marv Jacobs officiating, Interim Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
