Joan K. Pyse, age 83, of Sterling, IL, died Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
Joan was born November 28, 1938, in Sterling, the daughter of Dean and Mildred (Wagenknecht) Pyse. She was employed at Conco Inc. in Mendota, IL, and at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Gail Estes of Amboy, IL, Tom Estes of Oregon, and Troy (Janet) Estes of Bradford, IL; siblings, Jeanie (Carl) Mattingly of Loretto, KY, David Pyse of Kings Mountain, SC, Debbie (Randy) Aronson of Harmon, IL, and Wendy (Craig) Stralow of Morrison, IL; brother-in-law, Larry Karash of Morrison; sister-in-law, Donna Pyse of Dixon, IL; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christy Westfall; son-in-law, Tim Westfall; brothers, Dean “Ted” Pyse and Dennis Pyse; sisters, Joyce Ernst, Charlotte Doan, Judy Estes, Peggy Karash, and Sue Chappell; brothers-in-law, Alan Ernst and Steve Chappell.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
A Graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m., at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
A memorial has been established.
