Jesse LeRoy Bailey, 87, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, November 29, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, E. Rusholme Street, Davenport, IA.
Jesse was born on November 24, 1932, in Fulton, IL, the son of James and Alma (Imel) Bailey. He married Diana Mae Ballard at the Erie Baptist Church on March 25, 1967. Jesse retired from the Glen Myers Construction Company after many years in construction. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, and playing cards and games. He loved watching sports and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. Jesse cherished time with his family and was so very proud of all of them.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Diana Bailey, Morrison; children, Denise Bailey (David Chaplin), Katy, TX, Craig (Christine) Bailey, Des Moines, IA, Dody (Rick) Ogburn, Morrison, Vicky Heady, Morrison, Mark (Deborah) Gibson, Clinton, IA, Shawn (Tina) Bailey, Geneseo, IL, Missy (Kenny) Meinsma, Morrison; sister, Chris (Lawrence) Schluter, Armstrong, IL; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Teresa Cross; three grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Bos and Gladys Lartz.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at the funeral home.
Private burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, Erie, IL.
