Jeanne Lynn Hovey, age 74, of Albany, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at her home.
Jeanne was born on March 4, 1946, in Moline, IL, to Eugene and Betty (Wolever) Carpenter. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Hovey on July 18, 1964, at Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton, IL. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2017. Jeanne worked for GE for seven years, before becoming a bus driver for 29 years for the Erie School System. Jeanne enjoyed birds in general, but especially chickens and cardinals.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Hovey of Morrison, IL; sons, John Hovey of Berwick, IL, James Hovey of Albany, and Joseph (Sandy) Hovey of Erie, IL; two grandchildren, Noah Hovey and Boston Howard; brothers, Steven (Marjorie) Carpenter of Albany, and Jeffrey (Nancy) Carpenter of Erie.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by two sisters, Cheryl and Lori.
Private Services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home. Face coverings will be required for those in attendance.
Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery, Erie, IL.
