Jeanette Schaver, 96, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Nursing Home.
Jeanette was born January 7, 1917, in Garden Plain, IL, to Hilcoe and Flora (Bonneur) Vander Eide. She attended the Garden Plain Schools. Jeanette married James E. Schaver on December 4, 1934, in Morrison. He died October 6, 2003. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church where she participated in the Dorcas Society. Jeanette played the organ at many local churches for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and canning. She loved to bake, especially bread. Jeanette loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include six daughters, Pearl (Cecil) Geerts of Fulton, IL; Judith (Ronald) Schaver of Morrison; Florence (Larry) Shipma of Fulton; Ruth (Michael) Senneff of Bettendorf, IA; Joyce (Keith) Hamstra of Morrison; Annette (Doug) Smith of Fulton; two sons, Kenneth J. (Arlene) Schaver of Morrison and Vernon (Jeannie) Schaver of Fulton; 24 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; four great-great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; one brother, Carl (Wilma) Vander Eide of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Jessie Vander Eide of Morrison; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter in infancy; one grandson in infancy; one sister, Marian Newendyke; three brothers, Clarence, Orin, and Elmer Vander Eide.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2013, at First Christian Reformed Church, Fulton, IL
