On 1/16/18 at about 3:27 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Moline and Matznick Roads, rural Sterling, IL. Investigation revealed a 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by Danielle C. Lawson, 42, of Prophetstown, IL, was traveling westbound on Moline Road and collided with an eastbound 2009 Nissan Versa, driven by Horacio C. Arellano, 50, of Rock Falls, IL. Arellano was extricated from his vehicle by Sterling Fire Department. Both drivers were taken to CGH Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Danielle was charged with DUI-Alcohol and Improper Lane Usage.
On 1/21/18 at about 9:42 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a single-vehicle roll over crash on Route 78 and Wayne Road, rural Morrison, IL. Investigation revealed a 2013 Jeep Compass driven by Tiffany D. Smith, 28, of Orion, IL, was traveling southbound on Route 78 and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle entered the ditch and field, where it rolled. Tiffany was transported to MCH Hospital by ambulance for injuries. Her two juvenile passengers were not injured. She was charged for Improper Lane Usage.
