Morrison Rotary Club selected Isaac Damhoff and Gillian Larson as January 2018 Students of the Month. Past President Dave Abele, right, presented the students with a certificate for their accomplishments.
Isaac Damhoff is active in track, band, choir, Student Council, Key Club, Scholastic Bowl and jazz band. He loves music and loves to play bass and sing, with a local band called “Seventh Hour.” He has done community projects through his church, and he also collects canned goods during Halloween for UNICEF. Isaac collects records and enjoys hanging out with friends. His goal is to attend a university for Mechanical Engineering with hopes to become a college Professor. Isaac’s parents are Rod and Melinda Damhoff.
Gillian Larson is President of the Drama Club/Thespian Troupe; she loves music and acting. She is in Advanced Choir and Symphonic Choi. She acts in spring musicals and at an improve theater. She is active in Key Club and loves her job at Odell Public Library. She organized a Paws to Read program. Gillian takes her therapy dog to help kids build reading skills, while in the company of a wonderful pet. She would like to pursue a career at Illinois State University, where she will take classes to prepare her for a career as a Theater Teacher. Gillian’s parents are Tom and Jess Dersham.
