January 19 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

1/17/18 at 10:34 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to U. S. Route 30 and Habben Road for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.  The driver of a black Toyota, Dezirae Criss, age 20 of Sterling, IL, had to be extricated from the vehicle and transported to CGH Medical Center.  The driver of the black Ford, a 16-year-old female from Clinton, IA, was transported to CGH Medical Center, also.  It was determined the 16-year-old was traveling westbound and crossed the center line when she was distracted by the car radio and struck Dezirae’s eastbound vehicle.  The 16-year-old was cited for Improper Lane Usage.  Illinois State Police, Sterling Fire Department, Rock Falls Fire Department, and CGH ambulance assisted on scene.

1/17/18 at 9:59 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies arrested Matthew L. Stanfel, age 40 of Morrison, IL, with an active Whiteside County Warrant for Domestic Battery-Bodily Harm.  Stanfel was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was able to post bond and released.

1/18/18 at 11:00 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near U. S. Route 30 and Galt Road.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Patrick Grassnickle, age 32 of Sterling, IL, was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, given a verbal warning for disobeying a stop sign, and released on a Notice to Appear.

1-19-18 at 1:40 a.m.  Devin K. Gibbons, age 23 of Stevensville, MI, was stopped for an expired registration in Sterling, IL.  She was cited for Operation with Expired Registration (March 2017) and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  After posting bond, she was released with the future mandatory court date.
