Posted by

Editor’s note:  Illinois State Police District 1, Sterling, IL, sent this alert to Illinois drivers heading across the Mississippi River into Clinton, IA, for a portion of the day on Saturday, January 12, 2019.  Morrison Fire Department will drive their Brush Truck in the procession.  MFD will send an Engine and staff to the Fulton Fire Department, in case of a fire.

Please be advised that tomorrow, multiple agencies from the area will work with the Clinton Police Department and Clinton Fire Department, to assist with the funeral procession for fallen Fireman Lt. Eric Hosette, of Charlotte, IA.  The procession is set to begin at 12:30 p.m.  Sometime during the mid-morning, fire trucks staging on the Illinois side will cross the bridge together.  Drivers should be aware this event will likely affect traffic on both bridges for several hours.

Hundreds of fire trucks from across the Country will be in attendance.

There will be Officers on the Illinois side of both bridges to shut down traffic as necessary.

Please plan ahead.  Be prepared and patient for long delays while Lt. Hosette is honored and escorted home.
