The Volunteer Educators at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton, IL, invite the public to attend the next program of the season. The January 11, 2017, Wild Winter Wednesdays at the Windmill Cultural Center will teach guests about the habitats of sharks. The public is invited to gather at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, tea, and refreshments. The program begins at 9:15.
The building, 111 10th Avenue, Fulton, is accessible to people with disabilities. The program is funded through a grant from the Fulton Association for Community Enrichment (FACE).
Mark Roberts has been the Conservation Education Coordinator and Naturalist for the Clinton County Conservation for 24 years. He has overseen the growth of the program from one to four full-time naturalists, started Blue Heron Eco Cruises, and was a member of the planning team for the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center at Rock Creek Marina & Campground.
In the summer of 2007, Mark was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in leopard shark research in Monterey Bay, CA, with the Pelagic Shark Research Foundation through an EarthWatch Institute Grant sponsored by Lyondell. The presentation “Sharks and Rays of Monterey” documents that trip.
A new feature each week will be the addition of bread for sale by Krumpets Bakery. Guests will be able to purchase bread made with de Immigrant flour at the Windmill Cultural Center.
WWW@WCC programs are held on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. from December to the end of March. Programs are free and open to the public.
