Janice R. Ottens, 78, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, March 16, 2020, at The Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA.
Janice was born November 18, 1941, in Clinton, to Robert W. and Gladys G. (Bennett) Decker. She attended Fulton Schools. Janice married Daniel E. Ottens on March 27, 1957, in Fulton. She was employed by Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton and as an In-Home Provider. Janice enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting. She was an avid baker and enjoyed making pies, caramels, mints, and cookies.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel; daughter, Tami (Bart) Leavens of Clinton; sons, James (Mary) Ottens, Dennis (Dawn Smith) Ottens, and Michael (Sue) Ottens all of Fulton; six grandchildren, Amanda Ottens, Danielle (Patrick) Malone, Thomas Ottens, Elizabeth Ottens, Dennis Ottens II, and Heather (Matt) Powell; two great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (William) White of Morrison, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m.,Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Ken Renkes officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.
A memorial has been established to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
