Janice Eileen Boelkens, 67, of Milledgeville, IL, entered the presence of the Lord Monday, November 4, 2013, while her loving husband was at her side, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, IA.
Janice was born October 5, 1946, in Morrison, IL, to Edward and Marian G. (VanderEide) Newendyke. She attended Cottonwood Grade School and graduated from Morrison High School in Morrison. She later attended Clinton Business School. Jan married Donald J. Boelkens on March 7, 1969, in Fulton, IL. She worked at the Albany Trust and Savings Bank in Albany, IL, the Farmers State Bank in Chadwick, IL, and later at Goodwill in Sterling, IL. Jan was also a caregiver and companion for many residents in the Carroll County area. She was a former member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton and presently a member at Faith Reformed Church in Lanark, IL. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, and traveling the area to listen to gospel quartets.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; two brothers, Elwyn (Iola) Newendyke of New Boston, MO, and LaVerne Newendyke of Morrison; three sisters-in-law, Joyce (Randy) Stenbeck of German Valley, IL; Janet Winters of Milledgeville; Jane (Dana) Miller of Mt. Carroll, IL; three brothers-in-law, Delbert (Dorothy) Boelkens of Forreston, IL; David (Jan) Boelkens of Lanark; Stanley Boelkens of Milledgeville; two aunts, Evelyn (Floyd) Perkins and Jessie VanderEide; one uncle, Carl (Wilma) VanderEide; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clarence and Bertha Boelkens.
