James R. Perkins, 76, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
James was born December 26, 1941, in Burlington, IA, to Harold F. and Emily (Fensterbusch) Perkins. He was a 1959 graduate of Burlington High School and served in the National Guard. James married Penny L. Vogt on August 30, 1968, in Burlington. He was employed in the printing pre-press industry for 50 years. James enjoyed following NASCAR and fishing and was an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife, Penny; three daughters, Velvajane (Brian) Gire of Morrison, IL; Laura (Scott) Hall of Acworth, GA; Jamie (Jim) Stokes of Marietta, GA; one son, Bradley (Cheyanne) Perkins of Marietta; eight grandchildren, Katherine Browning, Brian Gire, Jessica Howe, Cheyenne Bradley, Damian Browning, Shelby Stokes, Cameron Stokes, and Taylor Perkins; two step-grandchildren, Kevin and Nathan Hall; one sister, Pat (Dennis) Welch of Conyers, GA; two brothers, Robert Perkins of Altus, OK, and Kevin (Michelle) Perkins of Lancaster, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Richard Perkins.
There will be no funeral service.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial has been established by the family.
