James L. Isenhart, age 85, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Rock River Hospice & Home, Sterling, IL.
James was born September 28, 1938, in Rockford, IL, the son of Frederick and Ella (Cratty) Isenhart. He grew up in Mt. Morris, IL, graduating from Mt. Morris High School in 1956. James served in the U. S. Army from 1956-1957 and was later employed as an appliance, radio, and computer Repairman. He was a member of the Firehouse of God Ministries, where he volunteered his time and ran the sound board. James gave tours of the Firehouse Fire Museum and volunteered with Pink Heals Sauk Valley. He enjoyed having coffee at Flipside and chatting with all the customers. James loved photography, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and sharing encouraging messages on Facebook.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth (Brian) Tribley of Morrison, IL, and Lisa (Adam) Parchert of Carpentersville, IL; sister, Janet Heeren of Byron, IL; five grandchildren, Callie (David) Gottemoller, Sarah (Matthew) Hodge, Andrew Tribley, Darius Parchert, and Asher Parchert; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Bryson Gottemoller; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Kenny Heeren.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Firehouse of God Ministries in Sterling, IL.
The Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Pastors Brian Tribley and Adam Parchert co-officiating.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, IL.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Firehouse of God Ministries.
