James J. Entwhistle, 76, of West Liberty, IA, died Monday, December 5, 2022, at Lantern Park Nursing Home in Coralville, IA.
James was born March 28, 1946, in Morrison, IL, to Elmer S. and Lillian E. (Shaleen) Entwhistle. He was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a 1964 graduate of Morrison High School. He then attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. James was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, reaching the rank of Lieutenant of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. As of [December 2022], James had celebrated 23 years of sobriety with AA.
Survivors include a daughter, Mandy Entwhistle of Augusta, GA; sons, Jon (Gayla) Entwhistle of Kansas City, KS, and David Entwhistle of Naples, FL.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Entwhistle; aunt, Alice Entwhistle.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Morrison United Methodist Church in Morrison, IL. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be at Cottonwood Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to Disabled Veterans of America has been established.
