Ivan Joe Kaufman, 77, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, August 31, 2014, at his home.
Joe was born November 14, 1936, in Tiskilwa, IL, to Preston M. and Florence E. (Cook) Kaufman. He was a graduate of Chadwick High School in Chadwick, IL, and served in the U. S. Army. He married Marsha A. Paschal on February 28, 1964, in Morrison. Joe was first engaged in farming in rural Carroll and Whiteside Counties. He then worked at Parrish Alford in Rock Falls, IL; McNeil Electric in Sterling, IL; Nelson Electric in Morrison. Most recently, he owned and operated Kaufman Brothers in Morrison until retiring. Joe was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed his fishing trips to Minnesota.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha; three daughters, Karen (Alex) Magana of Morrison, Kelli (Dragon) Petrovic of Cottontown, TN, and Susan (Philip) Joines of Morrison; two sons, Mike Kaufman of Morrison and Jeff (Laura) Kaufman of Carmel, IN; eight grandchildren, Gregory and Rachel Kaufman; Isak Petrovic; Gavin, Keegan, and Charlotte Joines; Jacob Kaufman; Zane Kaufman; one sister, Bessie Livsey of Jerseyville, IL; one brother, Wayne (Fern) Kaufman of Mesa, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Andrew Kaufman; one sister, Eloise Kingery; seven brothers, Elmer Kaufman, Lyle Kaufman, Howard Glen Kaufman, Frank Kaufman, Donald Kaufman, Clyde Kaufman, and Marvin Kaufman.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
