State Farm Morrison Agent/Owner Angie VanderVinne and her staff are celebrating Christmas in July 2020. At 127 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, lobby, front window, and offices are decorated for the season of giving. The women wear holiday attire and jewelry. Whenever a new client makes a decision to “Give the Gift of Life,” a bell rings.
The theme draws people’s attention to life insurance benefits, noted VanderVinne. “We would rather have a conversation about purchasing life insurance ten years too early, rather than one day too late. It is not an expense; it is a gift for your family.”
She explained, “Life’s a gift. Having life insurance through [one’s] work is great, but typically a work policy won’t have enough benefit to do what you want it to for your family: payoff your house and other debts, provide some financial adjustment funds, and, of course, burial expenses. Benefits change. People Retire. People get laid off. People divorce and lose benefits.
“It’s best to have control of a benefit as crucial as life insurance, by owning a policy aside from your employer’s benefit policy. Also, the younger and healthier you are, the lower the premium is, so it is financially prudent to lock in that benefit as soon as you can. We all have a story of a tragedy or a health crisis happening without warning. We want to help people get their ducks in a row now, to eliminate a financial crisis later.
