irma longaneckerIrma I. Longanecker, 99, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, died Monday, August 20, 2018, at Resthave.

Irma was born November 27, 1918, in Sterling, IL, to Fred and Jennie (Schwitters) Landheer.  She was educated in the McElrath School in rural Whiteside County.  On February 11, 1939, she married Floyd Longanecker in Clinton, IA.  He died in 1950.  Irma worked at and retired from G.E. in Morrison.  She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Longanecker of Morrison; one granddaughter, Marla Tarpenning of Buckner, MO; two grandsons, Marshal (Karen) Longanecker and Michael Longanecker, both of Morrison; four great-grandchildren, Charity (Aaron) Johnson, James (Alisha) Tarpenning, Katie (Richard) Decker, and Kelcie (Logan Wilkens) Hohlen; five great-great-grandchildren, Lane Tarpenning, Colton Tarpenning, Ronan Johnson, Tristan Bland, and Easton Decker.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; one son, Wayne Longanecker; two sisters, Freda Mennenga and Edna Landheer; one brother, John Landheer.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018, at Morrison United Methodist Church, preceded by a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Ryan Sutton will officiate.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

A memorial to Morrison United Methodist Church has been established.
