It will be an exciting weekend at the RiverCenter, 136 E. Third Street, Davenport, IA, on Friday, February 8, through Sunday, February 10, 2013, when the Iowa/Illinois Auto Show 2013 cruises into town. Spread over two buildings–the Great Hall/Concourse and Mississippi Hall/Atrium–there will be plenty of fun for the entire family. Show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday.
In a non-selling environment, you can view 2013 and 2014 models of cars, trucks, minivans, and sport/utility and high performance vehicles; sports cars; Motor Trend Car and Truck of the Year.

A unique experience awaits visitors of all ages, by visiting Sony’s “Best In Class a77” studio. It will be located near the Luxury Showcase in the Mississippi Hall, behind the Lincoln display. Here you can have a digital photo taken of you in one of the world’s fastest sports cars, using green-screen technology.
For the children, choose from several entertainments.
- On Saturday, February 9, Quad City Animal Welfare Center will showcase adoptable animals and their children’s book, Fur-ever Friends, available for a $5 donation. From noon to 3:00 p.m. the book will be read aloud.
- During the same time, Zany Janie will paint faces and make balloon characters.
- On Sunday, February 10, from noon to 3:00 p.m. SpongeBob SquarePants will greet youngsters and pose for a photo.
- During the same time, Kadel Farms will host a petting zoo.
- Niabi Zoo’s zookeeper offers an animal show at 12:00, 1:00, and 2:00 p.m.

The Auto Show is a non-profit event which contributes to a Scholarship Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Great River Bend, Davenport, IA. Over $205,000 in college scholarships have been awarded to 61 high schoolers. Haylea Ehredt of Rock Falls High School is a 2012 winner. She was nominated by Ken Nelson of Rock Falls. The 2013 winners will be announced on Thursday, February 7, with $30,000 being given to college- and tech school-bound students.
