Iona J. Harvey 91, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, November 1, 2019, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
Iona was born October 24, 1928, in Sterling, IL, to Charles and Nellie (Neary) Stichter. She was educated in the Fenton grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School. Iona married Raymond T. Harvey on April 3, 1947, in Morrison. He died September 9, 1996. Iona, along with her husband, Raymond, farmed in the rural Morrison area. She also worked as Administrative Assistant for her husband’s real estate company, Ray Harvey Real Estate Agency. Iona was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, where she served on many committees and enjoyed the church’s women’s Monday Afternoon Club. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and sewing. Her greatest joy in life was entertaining her family at her home.
Survivors include daughters, Linda (Lanny) Spangler of Morrison and Pamela (Duane) Kerr of Green River, WY; son, Kevin (Mary Melissa) Harvey of Princeton, IL; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Shirley) Stichter of Fenton, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and sister, Jane Ann Nelson.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2019, at Morrison United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Noah Panlilio, Pastor, officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to Morrison United Methodist Church has been established.
