At 5:25 p.m., today, Thursday, February 28, 2019, the Editor spotted a dog across the street from her house at 15683 Hazel Road, Morrison, IL. It ran searchingly toward, away from, and back toward the driveway of Bruce Hunter, on the corner of Hazel Road and Greenland Avenue. The dog sniffed two sides of the fenced pen for the Hunters’ dogs, marking its territory, then sniffed a random bush, before darting across the Hunters’ yard toward the corner. It stopped before crossing the road; ran onto the east side of her lot; followed a drainage “stream” into the adjoining timber. It could not be seen after that. The medium size, short-haired sporting breed has short, down-turned ears, and a long, upturned tail. It is mostly white with brindle patches of brown. The bright orange collar is wide. Call 815-535-7005 if you retrieve your pet.
