Illinois Counties Affected by Bird Flu Quarantine

Illinois Counties affected by Quarantine Designation for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) include McHenry County and Lake County.

This Secretarial natural disaster designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit through emergency loans, to producers recovering from natural disasters.  Emergency physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help farm operators.  These designations will make farm operators in all affected Counties who suffered quarantine losses due to HPAI eligible to be considered for FSA emergency loan assistance.

Triggering Disaster:  The Wisconsin Department of Agricultural Trade and Consumer Protection imposed the quarantine on December 13, 2024, through January 13, 2025, due to damage and losses caused by the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI.)

Secretarial Disaster Notification:  Q106.  Application Deadline:  November 6, 2025
