The Illinois High School Association and COUNTRY Financial are teaming up again, to recognize the efforts of educators and coaches/advisors. These individuals go beyond the call of duty, to positively impact the lives of Illinois High School students, inside and outside of the classroom. Nominations were submitted in the fall of 2020. Three individuals received recognition through the program, on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Jared Wessels from Fulton[, IL,] High School was one so honored. Other honorees were Nicole Leigh, Gardner-South Wilmington High School and Kha Tran, CICS Northtown.
FHS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Patrick Henrekin submitted the nomination. Wessels has been the Strength and Conditioning Coach for five years.
