Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week at MIT

Posted by

Did you know that

  • food insecurity exists in every county in the United States?
  • the homeless population increases at a rate of 6% each year?

USAMorrison Institute of Technology students will recognize and support National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week, Saturday, November 14, through Sunday, November 22, 2015, by holding a “one-night-without-a-home” event.

On Monday, November 16, through the morning of Tuesday, November 17, students will spend the night outside–in tents, boxes, and cars–to promote advocacy, awareness, and education of homeless and hungry people in the United States.

How can you help?

Morrison Tech will hold a food, coat, and blanket drive Monday, November 16, through Friday, November 20.  Please donate non-perishable food items, new or gently-used coats, and  blankets.

Donations may be dropped off in the foyer at the main entrance of the Rambo Building, as you enter campus, 701 Portland Avenue (IL Route 78), Morrison, IL.

Contact Jodie Eaker, Admissions Representative, at 815-772-7218, extension 207.
