How to Prevent the Next Nuclear War August 22

OSFPeaceCenterLogo“A nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought,” President Ronald Reagan proclaimed, in his 1984 State of the Union Address.

“Nuclear weapons offer us nothing but a balance of terror, and a balance of terror is still terror,” said George Wald.

Carl Sagan argued, “The nuclear arms race is like two sworn enemies standing waist-deep in gasoline, one with three matches, the other with five.”

“…nuclear threats and nuclear weapons are the last argument of weak, stressed, and irresponsible politicians.  People must act very quickly to stop the movement to nuclear war,” posited Alla Yaroshinskaya.

With those rational statements in mind, The Sisters of St. Francis Franciscan Peace Center will host a program to discuss “How to Prevent the Next Nuclear War,” on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at The Canticle, 841 13th Avenue N., Clinton, IA.

All interested persons are encouraged to attend.
