Hot Car and Cold Ice Cream Featured at Museum

Mark your calendar for Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2014, for the upcoming special family event at Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  Two Morrison men of renown will be the focus of an old-fashioned ice cream social, designed by Morrison Historical Society.  Other refreshments include barbecue pork sandwiches, pie, pop, and bottled water, all by donation only.

Join the Board of Trustees and your friends between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.  Kindly bring a lawn chair for outdoor seating, if the day is blessed with fine weather.

Kenny Venhuizen returns for a third year to treat visitors to his oh-so-rich vanilla ice cream.  Half the fun is watching–or rather, hearing–the creation being “churned” by his portable hit-‘n’-miss engine.  Venhuizen built it about five years ago and has delighted ice cream fans ever since.

Morrison’s hometown super star race car driver is Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick, admired and adored by fans across the United States.  He will bring one of his Tameless Tiger vehicles to the parking lot and have appropriate racing items for sale inside.  Morrison Historical Society  will display Items that chronicle his successful years of racing.  Don’t miss the opportunity to meet this legend of drag racing!
