Advantage One Credit Union members came to the financial institution’s parking lot, 204 N. Jackson Street, Morrison, IL, for an autumn picnic. A “Bring a Dog; Get a Dog,” Annual Member Appreciation event appealed to many, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunshine and mild temperatures urged folks to linger in conversation after eating lunch.
The dog-friendly event, featured Holly’s Dogs (all- beef Chicago hot dogs, Italian sausage, cheese-stuffed brats, and Polish sausage.) They could be topped with sauerkraut, chili, bacon, macaroni and cheese, mustard, and/or ketchup. The meal included various chips and beverages, a chocolate-chip cookie, and popcorn. Canines received dog biscuits and water served in a crystal bowl.
Representatives of “On the Move With Parks and Recreation” and others discussed the recently-opened Bark Park on N. Genesee Street. Fencing is complete; three benches are in place, as is one-of-two pavilions. Donations for additional amenities at the Bark Park were accepted. Labrador Retrievers-Boxer mix “Rocky” (left) and Labrador Retriever “Macy” enjoy a bit of play. Rocky was the first dog to use the Bark Park, with owner Jesse Sanchez, on Friday morning, August 26. Three-year-old Macy is owned by Jen and Danny Willits. They have exercised their pet at the Bark Park. “She loves [chasing] balls,” stated Jen.
