The fragrance of cookies and warm beverages, holiday music, fresh greens, and shortened daylight hours signal that Christmas in Heritage Canyon is ready for visitors. On Saturday, December 4, 2021, join the Early American Crafters, at 515 N. Fourth Street, in Fulton, IL, will replicate holiday life in the mid-1800s. There is no admission charge, but donations are always appreciated.
From noon to 6:00 p.m., visit 11 buildings decorated for the holiday season, as “folks of Christmas past” go about their merry holiday activities. Please know, because of health precautions, each building host will decide if guests will be allowed inside or greeted at the door. At dusk the venue will be lit with lanterns and luminaries. You might bring a flashlight to light your way during the Illuminated Christmas Walk.

Stroll woodland paths, bridges, and brick sidewalks. Listen to accordion music and caroling in the Church or by a strolling guitarist elf. Talk with Blacksmiths Gene and Rick; consider purchasing a handmade item.
Santa Claus and his elves will be in the Ironworks, where kids can write him a letter. Carry it to the Post Office, inside the General Store, before 4:00, for the Postmistress to stamp it “Express Mail.”
Peruse the merchandise or buy a ornament. Upstairs is the Dressmaker’s Shop, Bank, Medical Office, and Clay Pipe Shop.
The Log Cabin on the hill will be open until dusk. Blacksmiths will be at the forge, executing their craft. Students in the Schoolhouse will practice carols and decorate a fresh tree with handmade ornaments, candles, and snowflakes.
