Heritage Canyon, 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL, comes to life on Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2, 2022. Visit 11 buildings reminiscent of the late-1800s, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Park downtown at Fulton Corp., and ride the free shuttle to the Canyon entrance. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for school age children.
Early American Crafters–Heritage Canyon historical interpreters–offer authentic glimpses into our past. They include blacksmiths; cooks in the 1860s house and summer kitchen; doctor; musicians in the church; fur trapper in the log cabin; wood carver; block printer; school teacher.
Enjoy a petting zoo, popcorn in the Town Hall, and ice cream and water in the Ice Cream Parlor. Hike the trails; traverse covered and swinging bridges. Cross 4th Street to view the Mississippi River bank.
Andresen Nature Center, 409 N. 4th Street, next door to Heritage Canyon, celebrates Fall Festival both days from 10:00 to 4:00. There is no admission fee to see nature displays, taxidermy specimens, and a working beehive.
