Take a spring stroll through the past into a recreated pioneer village beside the Mississippi River. Join the Early American Crafters and guest interpreters at Heritage Canyon on Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during our annual Dutch Days celebration. The location is 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL.
On Saturday May 6, there will be a shuttle between downtown Fulton and the Canyon, with the last pickup at 4:00 p.m.
Gene Whistman, left, of Kirkland, IL, will demonstrate blacksmithing. Frank Butt, Fulton, IL, is our skilled woodcarver.
On both days, Rev. Dan Lybarger plays his Native American flute and tells stories; hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream are for sale.
The Wapsi Wranglers return for western shows on Saturday.
All 11 buildings will be open for you to visit, several manned by reenactors who bring history to life. See our log cabin and clapboard homes, church, school, covered bridge, blacksmith shop, general store, and others. Cross the ever-popular swinging or covered bridges or hike the trails.
Watch demonstrations and talk to our artists, crafters, vendors, and others recreating life in the 1800’s.
Don’t miss the Ice Cream Shop and shopping in the General Store.
Admission for a whole day of fun is only $2 per adult and $1 for children.
