This family from Marion, IA, thoroughly enjoyed Fall Festival at Heritage Canyon, 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL. Create a similar experience with your family or friends on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Spend a few minutes across Fourth Street to view the Mississippi River from a swing. Bring a camera or smartphone to capture the beauty of the area.

Park at no charge downtown at Fulton Corp., and ride the complimentary shuttle to the Canyon entrance. No visitor parking is available across the street from the attraction. Admission to the Canyon is by donation, if you are able.

Visit the Canyon online at https://www.facebook.com/WierengasHeritageCanyon.

Visit 11 buildings reminiscent of the late-1800s.  Early American Crafters–Heritage Canyon historical interpreters–offer authentic glimpses into our past.  They include active blacksmiths Gene Whisman and Rick and Michelle Medd; Shanna Frondle preparing and cooking food in the 1860s house and summer kitchen; fur trader “Little John” in the log cabin; spoon carving by Johan Stolz; games with the school teacher.

Enjoy the P & C Petting Zoo.

Music will be provided by dulcimers (Coral and Kikki Flikkema); (Linda Russell); wooden flutes (Dan Eads); guitar in the gazebo (Laytin Coffee.)

Andresen Nature Center, 409 N. 4th Street, next door to Heritage Canyon, celebrates Fall Festival both days from 10:00 to 4:00. There is no admission fee to see nature displays, taxidermy specimens, and a working beehive.
