There is a pair of unused tennis court atop the hill in Kelly Park, on High Street, Morrison, IL, that need some tending by volunteers. The City of Morrison has agreed to purchase paint and nets, to turn the venue into two Pickleball courts. Volunteers will paint the court lines; maintain the courts; erect a “Morrison Pickleball Courts” sign, if desired. You can be part of this new active sport venue.
The first step is to groom it. The public is invited to do this on Saturday morning, June 8, 2019, beginning at 10:30 a.m. It is estimated to take up to an hour and a half. Many volunteers will manage the clean up much sooner than that.
Bags will be provided for leaf collection.
Please bring water to drink and whatever tools you can:
- gloves
- broom
- rake
- string trimmer/weed beater
- leaf blower and long extension cords to reach the power at a neighbor’s house.
