Join your friends and family to celebrate over 50 local artists and to raise funds for the future of The Loft on Main and its projects. Enjoy a festive gathering on Saturday evening, October 20, 2018, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., in the Morrison Institute of Technology Auditorium, at 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL. The evening will feature music, appetizers, desserts, a cash bar, and–of course–art. All of these ingredients promise a lively, fun-filled event.
Tickets are $25 for a single admission and $40 for a couple. They may be purchased daily at Fitzgerald Pharmacy. Or stop at The Loft on Main Thursday, October18, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Friday, October 19, or Saturday, October 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Upon entering the foyer, there will be envelopes numbered with a requested dollar donation. Each envelope will also represent a puzzle piece. An mystery, original artwork will be projected onto the MIT stage. As guests begin to turn in envelopes with their donations, puzzle pieces will be removed to reveal the hidden artwork; thus, “Building the Big Picture.”
The original piece of art will be auctioned at the end of the evening.
- Vocals and musical sounds of The Connection will fill the large auditorium, transformed with round tables, flowers, and candlelight.
- “Celebrity Waiters” will serve creative, delicious appetizers and desserts.
- A cash bar, set up by the Brick Block Pub, will feature craft beers, wine, and a Specialty Drink of the night.
- Meet many of the artists who are featured at the Morrison gallery.
While enjoying the cocktail party-like atmosphere, throughout the evening there will be several ways for all guests to donate to the fundraiser.
- A Silent Auction will feature jewelry, pottery, note cards, colored glass, and woodworking from the Loft, with the highest bid winning at the end of the evening.
- Interspersed in the evening will be a Live Auction of 12-to-18 pieces of art donated by the Loft’s artists.
A cashier will take payment for all purchased art with credit card, check or cash.
Don’t miss out on this creative art-filled event. It will help support The Loft on Main goals and assist in a scholarship, each semester, for an art or a music class at the Loft.
