Helen Marjorie Parker, 91, of Sacramento, CA, died January 16, 2014, in Sacramento.
Helen was born on September 5, 1922, in Erie, IL, to Clarence and Tena Wiersema. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from Morrison High School in Morrison, IL. Marge married Harry V. Parker in 1946, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. After marriage, the couple resided in Morrison until 1952. Later they moved to Aledo, IL, before moving to California in 1966. Marjorie worked for the U. S. Bureau of the Census and was also a Proctor for the State of California. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison before moving to California. She became a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. Marge donated to the California blood banks 467 times in 50 years.
Marjorie and Harry never had any children, but their nieces and nephews were very special to them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry, and three siblings.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Garden Plain Presbyterian Church, Fulton, IL
OFFICIATING: Mr. Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care, Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL
There will be no visitation. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
INTERMENT: Garden Plain Central Cemetery, Fulton, IL
