Bi-County Cooperative Foundation hosts the seventh Annual Hearts of Gold Fundraiser, Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The “evening full of fun and surprises” takes place at Days Inn, 2105 First Avenue, Rock Falls , IL. Tickets are $25. Days Inn and CGH Medical Center are sponsors.
The event includes hors d’oeuvres; a dessert auction; raffles; a silent auction; riddles; a cash bar.
Money raised is used to provide
- scholarships for high school Seniors and college students in general education, who are going into a Special Education-related field
- scholarships for Special Education students wishing to take college classes
- money for seminars, workshops, etc.
Grants and scholarships are awarded to students, parents, and teachers who work or live in Whiteside, and Carroll County. They are given in the spring and fall of each year to benefit students with disabilities. They have been awarded for
- adapted bicycles
- fees for summer camp
- home school activities,
Teachers grants were used for cooking in the classroom; camping with students; special classroom projects; roller skating; other uses.
