On Friday, March 27, 2020, three young women decorated the outside window glass of Tegeler Accounting Services, 222 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, with a cascade of colored, paper hearts. They explained to owner Joy Tegeler the colors are supposed “to honor front-line workers and service providers; everyone who is making sacrifices during the [coronavirus] pandemic.” See the colors and photo below.
Artistic heart happenings are spreading across the Country, bringing sentiments of appreciation to those who are raging war with a powerful, viral foe and cheering up those who are sheltering in place. “Hearts for Healthcare. Thank you, heroes. Thank you, essential employees, especially health care workers, doctors, and my fellow nurses. Show them some love.”
Some people make beautiful spring and Easter themes; others spread joyful color for neighbors to see. “We are all in this together. #Alonetogether. #WeWillBeOK. Love and Positive vibes. Be strong/Shelter in place.” The result: people smile; spirits are lifted.

Hunt for residences and buildings in Morrison decorated with this loving artistry: Farmers National Bank, TKB, and Co-Z Corner Convenience Store, are examples.
On Tuesday, March 24, Resthave Care & Rehabilitation Dietary Manager Tanya Denning brought the idea to Administrator Jill Smith. That evening the women cut lots of paper hearts. On Wednesday, March 25, they and some residents decorated two dining halls, windows, and resident rooms.
