Harry Schrodt, Jr., age 74, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at his home.
Harry was born April 18, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the son of Harry, Sr. and Mary (Beavers) Schrodt. He married Kathryn Pettrone on April 29, 1967, in Palos Hills, IL, and was employed at Signode Steel in Bridgeview, IL, for 35 years. Harry enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales, engraving, and long car rides with his wife in his convertible. He was also a former Boy Scout Assistant Scout Master.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Kathryn Schrodt of Morrison; one daughter, Anna (Dennis) Phillips of Sterling, IL; two sons, Sam Schrodt of Coffeeville, KS, and David Schrodt of Chicago; one brother, Ernest (Mary) Schrodt of Orland Park, IL; three sisters, Joan (Al) Ondreka of Chicago Heights, IL, Carol (Marv) Cross of Huber Heights, OH, and Margaret (Dennis) Temko of Joliet, IL; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Rachel, Ryan, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, Kimberly, BreAnn, and Charity; eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Morgan, Madison, Kaleb, Anthony, Jaxon, and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tommy Schrodt.
Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2018, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
