Harriet Pessman Wierema, 94, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, in Phoenix.
Harriet was born October 3, 1919, in Fulton, IL, the daughter of Louis and Agnes (Wilkens) Pessman. She married Howard Wierema on December 30, 1941, in Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2010. She was a homemaker and worked at General Electric in Morrison. Harriet was a former member of Morrison Christian Reformed Church and a member of Christ Community Church in Phoenix.
She is survived by seven daughters, Sharon (Merle) Reisenbigler of Morrison, Lois (Steve) Andrews of Ocean Port, NJ, and Vi Jones, Betty Martin, Ellen (Carl) Smith, Carol (John) Ledger, and Marie Wierema, all of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; one sister, Ella Kramer of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Julie Beveroth and Dorothy Kramer; two brothers, Homer Pessman and Lewis Pessman.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The memorial service will be Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Phoenix, AZ.
Local services will be at a later date.
