Harold C. Peterson, 94, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, October 30, 2017, at his home.
Harold was born November 26, 1922, in Morrison, to Fred and Minnie (Olson) Peterson. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He married LaVelle F. Milnes on December 17, 1946, in Morrison. She died November 30, 2004. Harold and LaVelle farmed in the rural Morrison area. He was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, where he served as treasurer. He was a member of the Morrison Oddfellows and also the Rebekahs in Sterling, IL. Harold enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and driving his antique John Deere tractor in the local county fairs. Harold was actively farming until the time of his death.
Survivors include one daughter, LaVon (Larry) Downing of Rockford, IL; two sons, Glenn (Barbara) Peterson and Ray (Vicky) Peterson, both of Morrison; five grandchildren, John Jones, David (Heather) Peterson, Derek (Moeko) Peterson, Heather (Jason) Beyers, Amy (Trevor) Guthke; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVelle, and one sister, Fern Olson.
FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Morison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
