The Bettendorf Piranhas Swim Club hosted a Swim Your Own Age Swim Meet in Rock Island, IL, at Augustana College on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Twenty-two Seahorses competed in their first swim meet of the New Year. The meet was unique, in that swimmers competed against swimmers their own age–rather than in the usual age groups that swim meets have.
The Seahorses brought home 26 medals for their 1st through 3rd place finishes and 32 ribbons for their 4th through 8th place finishes. The Seahorses also had an impressive 35 lifetime best times. Other highlights include Landri Harmon winning all four of her events; Emma Allison improving her 25 backstroke time by six seconds; Jacob Allison, Dylan Anderson, Afton Eyrich, and Mckinley Shelton all swimming in their first swim meet. Congratulations to all Seahorses!
