Rena Heusinkveld of Morrison, IL, will celebrate her centennial birthday on Thursday, April 30, 2015.
Born Rena Akker in rural Fulton, IL, in 1915, she married Clarence Heusinkveld in 1935 and raised four children in Morrison: Barbara (Phillips), Harvey, Roger, and Richard.
After retiring from General Electric, Rena focused her attention on volunteering in a variety of ways at Ebenezer Reformed Church. She served as Librarian and was an active member of the quilting group.
She continues to knit scarves and hats for various children’s organizations and rarely misses a Cubs game on the television.
