Regina Keith is now a centenarian! She celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Windsor Manor Assisted Living Community, 403 Scenic Street, Morrison, IL. She was feted at a birthday party Wednesday afternoon.
Regina was born in Morrison to Louis and Eva (Gaffey) Rick. She was the third of five children; her siblings were a sister and three brothers, all of whom are deceased.
Keith described her family members as “very good people.” She helped with farming chores and had a pony as a favorite pet. They lived in California for five years and enjoyed vacationing in Florida. She attended N. Clyde School until 8th grade and remember Mrs. Zook as a favorite teacher.
Regina and her fiance Edward K. Keith took a bus to St. Louis to get married; their first home was in Freeport, IL. Three of their four children included Laverne, Diane, and Gary. She worked at Climco Coils, Inc. in Morrison and is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Kaywyn Beswick honored Regina on her birthday, while remaining outside the facility. One sign shows a lifesize face of Beswick’s daughter, Jill Beswick, who was Keith’s cosmetologist for five years, prior to March 2020 COVID-19 restrictions. Regina Keith’s smile illustrates how this gesture brightened her 100th birthday.
