linton Community College will host the 40th Annual B-rrry Scurry 4-Mile Run on Saturday, February 6, 2021. It will be a hybrid race, combining a virtual run with a run featuring a very limited number of participants. Saturday, October 31, 2020, is set for “B-rrry’s Gone Batty,” online registration special of $25 including fees. The “Batty” registration rate will be available October 31, only online at www.eicc.edu/brrry. The deadline is midnight. The registration fee increases Sunday, November 1.
Virtual participants can complete a four-mile course of their choosing from January 30 through February 6, and submit that time for inclusion as a 2021 CCC B-rrry Scurry Four-Mile Run Finisher.
Proceeds of the B-rrry Scurry race benefit CCC students through scholarships; 112 CCC students have been awarded B-rrry Scurry Scholarships. Noted Race Director Ann Eisenman, “The 2021 B-rrry Scurry may be unique; however our mission of raising scholarship funds for CCC students will be the same.
“We look forward to a time when we can gather by the hundreds and run races again. For now, we must limit the runners on race day….Limited…runners on the course on February 6 will make for an exciting race. New course records could be set!”
Prize money is awarded to the male and/or female that sets a new B-rrry Scurry course record, on the out-and-back, flat-and-fast, four-mile course. Jessica Langford of Rockford, IL, holds the women’s record in a time of 23:21. Bryan Glass of Geneseo, IL, holds the record of 20:15.
