Morrison High School offers the following guidelines, from the recommendations of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA.) The District will enforce them starting on Thursday, February 18, 2021, during the home Girls Basketball game against Riverdale. Guidelines will continue throughout the remainder of the 2021 season.
Listed below are guidelines specifically for Parents/Guardians attending home games. Below that is the policy for MHS Parents/Fans attending home Basketball games. For those unable to attend games due to size limits, all home games will be live-streamed on the NFHS Network: https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/morrison-high-school-morrison-il.
MHS Parents/Guardians attending home games starting February 18.
- Freshman/Sophomore game attendees may arrive after 5:00 p.m. Varsity game attendees for players and Cheerleaders may arrive after 6:30 p.m.
- Enter the building via the Pool Ramp door.
- Masks must be worm at all times by all fans in attendance.
- No outside food or drink will be allowed; there will be no concession stand.
- Attendees will be asked to sign in and have their temperature checked.
- Gym doors will remain closed throughout the game.
- Attendees needing to use the restroom are asked to exit the gym through the South doors (nearest the elevator) and to use the restrooms on the main floor. Attendees should re-enter the gymnasium using the same door.
- At the end of the games, fans are asked to exit the gym via the South door (nearest the elevator.)
- Parents/Guardians who have athletes at both levels are asked to re-enter the gym using the same procedure as earlier.
- Parents of Cheerleaders and Pons only interested in seeing the halftime performance should arrive between 7:00 and 7:15 p.m. At halftime of the Varsity game, Parents will be allowed to enter the West side of the gymnasium to watch. Once the performance is over, Parents/Guardians are asked to exit the gym and then the building.
MHS Parents/Fan policy for home Basketball games:
- All fans are asked to enter the building via the Pool Ramp door.
- Due to IHSA/IDPH limits on crowd size, each athlete will be allowed two guests per contest from their household. Fans will only be allowed to watch the game that their student athlete is participating in.
- The IHSA and IDPH have asked that fans not shout, chant, or sing during indoor contests.
- There will be no entry fee for MHS home games.
